New appointment system

As you are no doubt aware, there have been many media campaigns highlighting the pressure the NHS is under due to a shortage of GPs, nurses and the longer waiting times for GP and hospital appointments.

We appreciate that some patients may feel let down by their practice if they are unable to secure an urgent appointment the same day or have to wait for a few weeks for routine GP appointments. We don’t like it either and it is not the service we want to provide to our patients.

This year we have successfully managed to recruit additional GPs to the team and we are getting ready to roll-out a new appointment system.

Our new triage model will go live on Monday 6th January 2025. From 7 am daily, you can contact us online or request an appointment using the NHS App. If you’d prefer to speak to a member of our team, please call the surgery as usual between 08:00 and 18:30. This information will be passed to a doctor, and you will be contacted shortly with the next steps.

If you would like to contact us about a family member or someone you care for (aged 16 and under), you do not need access to their online record. Simply select "Someone else" when completing your request via our online form. We understand patients may have concerns or worries, and our team is here to help you every step of the way.

Please be patient with our staff as we adjust to this new system.

Yours sincerely,

Dr Syed Akhter - GP Partner
